Woman Reporter Investigates Bosnia's Rape Camps

UK Guardian journalist Linda Grant describes her on-the-scene investigation of the story in the 1990s that rape was being used as a weapon of war in Bosnia by the Serbs. Her account of her skepticism, and how she visited the area to find out the truth is informative and inspiring. She writes this week in the hope that Radovan Karadzic's recent arrest will bring the atrocities back into world view.

Statutory Rape Laws - History and Usefulness

This article from the Guttmacher Institute dates from 1996, but is well worth revisiting as recent studies indicate over half of teens become pregnant by significantly older men. Though the age laws for the states table may not still be accurate, the history of statutory rape law is fascinating, and the debate about enforcing age of consent laws is still going on in 2008.
